How do you stoke the embers of your creative passion while helping a client discover their “why”?
In the fall of 2024, after a tough couple of years grinding, I joined some of my favorite collaborators for a week in the small eastern California town of Walker. We had three goals: 1) spend a bit of bonding time in the Eastern Sierras with no emails or client calls, 2) tackle a creative project with minimal gear and even fewer constraints, and 3) share the story of a close friend who chose to take a risk and pursue his passion.
The result was a perfect three for three.
“Why It’s Home” fueled the creative flame of everyone involved. In addition to driving reservations, website, and social media traffic to the Andruss’s channels, “Why It’s Home” garnered an American Advertising Award and a Gold Telly Award. More importantly, it showed us all that passion projects don’t have to be self-serving.
